2021 Highwood Golf Covid Protocols

The Highwood is looking forward to welcoming you for the 2021 golf season! We’d like to ensure that all members and guests are aware of our COVID protocols. Please comply with the below guidelines as dictated by Alberta Health and Safety. Your cooperation and courtesy is very much appreciated!

Prior to arriving at the golf course

(current COVID protocols – stay home if sick, etc)

Tee-times will be spaced 9 minutes apart to allow for social distancing, and to limit groups congregating at the first tee, or around the clubhouse.

Upon Arrival at the Golf Course

Please be aware that our clubhouse (Foxes Den Restaurant) is closed for indoor dining. Our newly covered patio remains open. Our pro shop remains open under AHS retail guidelines (15% of maximum capacity). Washrooms are available for use.

Please arrive to the first tee no more than 15 minutes before your tee time to minimize gathering in all areas.

Tee times will be in 9 minute intervals on the Highwood 18 and 10 minute intervals on the Spitzee 9.

Pro Shop

Anyone entering the building accessing the Pro Shop will be required to wear a mask. All employees working indoors will be wearing masks.

There will be a maximum capacity of 5 visitors allowed in the shop at any one time.

Sanitizer will be available at the Golf Shop entrance, so please sanitize hands upon entering. Handle merchandise only if you are intending to purchase it – thank you.

We will be practicing social distancing, please keep at least 6 feet between you and any other customer or employee.

Our preference is for our guests to pay with ‘tap’ debit and credit card but we will handle cash if necessary.

We will sanitize all point of sale terminals and all high touch surfaces.

Golf carts are available on a first come, first served basis and are routinely sanitized for your safety. If you are comfortable sharing a power cart you will be allowed to do so. Please ride on your own if you are more comfortable – we do not charge extra for single rider carts.

Pull Carts will be available for rental on a first come, first served basis. We have a limited amount available, so if you have your own please bring it with you to the course. They are frequently sanitized for your safety.

Driving Range

Courtesy carts are available for use to the range on a first come, first served basis. They are frequently sanitized for your protection.

As much as possible, keep one empty range mat between you and adjacent range users, to allow for social distancing

Balls are being cleaned prior to use.

Please return baskets to designated sanitization bucket after use. Baskets will be sanitized before being returned for use.

On the Golf Course

Flagsticks will remain in and be untouched. Use the ball lifter mechanism with your putter for easy ball retrieval without the need to touch any surfaces.

Sand bottles have been removed throughout the golf course. Please replace your divots.

Rakes will not be provided for bunker raking at this time. Please do your best to smooth sand with either your shoe or golf club.

Do not pick up your playing partners clubs during the course of play, and maintain distance on the tee boxes and greens.

On course Washrooms will have hand sanitizer in them
