Welcome to the Highwood
Since 1958, the Highwood has been the golfer’s choice in the Foothills. We have two distinct golf offerings: the championship Highwood 18 and the family friendly Spitzee 9.
On site, we also have a full service clubhouse with The Foxes Den Restaurant, the Wellman Room for banquets and weddings, covered patio, locker rooms, fully stocked pro shop, grass tee driving range, and extensive short game practice area. Our club is known for small town charm, incredible value, and inviting atmosphere.

Courses
Highwood golf boasts two courses, offering something for any skill level.
The 18 hole championship course is a par 71 and plays between 5282 and 6568 yards. The course is made up of the nines formerly known as ‘New Heritage’ and ‘Mountainview’. The front nine is scenic and tree lined and can challenge even the most skilled golfer. The back nine has many risk-reward holes that offer the chance to lower your score if you are able to take advantage of the opportunities given. The Highwood has played host to several provincial tournaments in the past and is scheduled to host the 2024 Alberta Senior Men’s Championship.
The 9 hole course is made up of holes from the courses formerly known as ‘Spitzee Six’ and ‘Original Heritage’. The par 33 course has four par 3’s, four par 4’s, and one par 5 and plays between 1802 and 2580 yards. The layout is perfect for families, beginners, and golfers who want a quick and affordable nine hole round. The course is on the bank of the Highwood River and is very picturesque and peaceful.
